rah paradise bungalows

Established over 20 years ago, Rah Paradise Bungalows was the first tourism operator on Rah Island.

Owned by Yarn and Rachel Dini, these bungalows are situated on a white sandy beach facing the ocean and famous Rocks of Rah. Rah Paradise Bungalows are just a short walk through the village from where the taxi-canoe will drop you off.

After enjoying a warm welcome from the Rah Women’s society, who will greet you with a song and fresh salu-salu (flower lei), you can check into your bungalow. Rah Paradise Bungalows has a number of accommodation options including traditionally built bungalows with natangora (thatched) roofs and bamboo walls or cabin style rooms made from local hard wood – both have breezy balconies and mosquito protection for your comfort. Ensuite and shared bathroom facilities are available, both with running water sourced from rainwater tanks.

Enjoy local organic Melanesian style meals cooked by Rachel in the beach front restaurant fare. You can request to try local specialties like lobster and coconut crab if you wish, or enjoy a BBQ on the beach with the family for special occasions.

You can snorkel straight off the beach – there is healthy coral and plenty of starfish and fish around the base of the Rocks of Rah or join Yarn on a fishing trip and try to catch your dinner. Yarn and Rachel will also be happy to take you on a complimentary tour around the island or organize you to attend one of the local tours such as the famous Rah Snake Dance, which is performed on the beach right outside your bungalow.
